VERY BRIEF OUTLINE
HIGH POWER CLINIC
Elk River Sportsman's Club
Feb. 2, 2008

This clinic is a classroom only session and is open to any one interested Highpower Rifle Competition. The clinic is intended to help the shooter who already has a classification card rather than those who have never shot Highpower. However, new shooters are welcome and should learn some important lessons on marksmanship.
The clinic will be held in the (heated) ERSC clubhouse with a start time of 1 pm.
(Note: Capt'n Bob tells me last year they served chili before they started the clinic so come early.)

1. 20-30 minutes on rules, alibis, scoring, challenges and other common problems seen at matches.
     There will be a test!

2. A demonstration of the sitting and prone positions, natural point of aim, set up on the firing line,
natural point of aim and other factors. Then discuss same.

3. Discussion of elevation spread effect on score.

4. Discussion of various techniques of wind reading and general guidelines for reducing wind losses.

5. Brief discussion of new mid range course, if there is interest.

6. Other subjects the shooters want to ask about.

7. Time permitting: A discussion of reloading for accuracy.

My previous experience tells me that it will be better to kick off each of the above with a brief lecture and then open up for questions.
